Blood Shrimp

Scientific Name Lysmata debelius

Max. Size: 3-5 inches

Tank Size: 20 gallons and up will be fine

Aggression: (Generally not too aggressive to other things but possibly to other shrimp)

Hardiness: (They need an established tank with proper levels of iodine to make sure they molt properly.)

Reef-Safe: Yes

Available as captive-bred: No

Physical Description

(Mostly blood red with bright white antennas and white spots)

Distribution

Found in the Indo-Pacific and Sri Lanka.

Behavior

Some can be pretty shy and dont spend too much time out in the open at the begining but then they will start to become a common feature in your tank appearing all over the place and crawling up and down you and your cleaning devices during a water change.

(They can produce eggs but normally none will survive.)
